Dunfermline Athletic Training Jacket 1985/1986
While the 1960s was a remarkable golden period for Dunfermline Athletic, the following decade was a much poorer one and by the early 1980s the Fife club was mired in the Scottish third tier.
The arrival of former player Jim Leishman as manager in 1982 would bring a dramatic turnaround in the club's fortunes. Appointed at the age of 28, his youth and boundless enthusiasm inspired the club to rise to the top of Scottish football.
Dunfermline's resurrection began during the 1985-86 season with Leishman's team winning the Division 2 title ahead of Queen of the South. This offensive side, led by Bobby Robertson and anchored by Norrie McCathie, scored 91 goals during the season and helped bring the crowds back to East End Park.
