The Tracksuits page of teamwear brings together training trousers, 3/4 length shorts, thermal leggings and goalkeeping trousers, from Nike, Uhlsport, Errea, Mizuno, Patrick, Hummel or Erima, in club colours such as Real Madrid, Tottenham or RC Lens.

Bottoms for training, from warm-ups to winter sessions.

The tapered trousers

The football training trousers are tapered: fitted from the knee to the ankle, they don't interfere with kicks and won't get caught in the studs. Technical models, like the Nike F.C. Dri-FIT or the Real Madrid trousers, are made from polyester mesh that wicks away sweat, often featuring zips at the ankles for slipping on over shoes. Jogging versions, like the one from Tottenham, are usually worn before and after training sessions.

The 3/4, coach's outfit

The 3/4 trousers, or capri pants, such as the Errea Joker, the Patrick Granada, or the Mizuno Sendai, stop just below the knee and leave the socks and shin guards visible. Originating from Italian and Spanish training centres, they have become the classic outfit for coaches and players during the off-season: more covering than shorts, less warm than long trousers.

Leggings and goalkeeper trousers

The thermal leggings, like the Uhlsport Distinction or the Bionikframe, are worn under shorts during winter matches: they keep thigh muscles warm and minimise friction, with some incorporating padding for keepers. The goalkeeper trousers, like the Uhlsport Anatomic Kevlar or the Hummel Classic, add padding at the hips and knees for diving. A technical trouser is washed at 30 degrees, without fabric softener.

The rest of the teamwear

Teamwear extends to tracksuits, jackets and windbreakers, sweatshirts, shirts, shorts, t-shirts and polos, socks, accessories, on the teamwear page.

Frequently asked questions

Why are football trousers tight at the bottom of the leg?

Fitted from the knee to the ankle, they don't interfere with kicks and won't get caught in the studs. A wide leg would flap around when in contact with the ball and opponents.

What size football trousers should I get for a child?

Child sizes are given by age or height: rely on their current height. Tapered trousers that are too long will bunch up on the shoe and lose all their usefulness on the pitch.

Technical trousers or fleece jogging bottoms: which should I choose?

The polyester mesh trousers, like the Nike F.C. Dri-FIT, wick away sweat during exercise. Fleece jogging bottoms, warmer and softer, are suitable for warming up, travelling, and recovery.

What are the zips at the ankles of football trousers used for?

They make it easy to put on or take off the trousers over the studded shoes, handy for removing warm-up gear at the pitch side without taking shoes off.

Why do coaches prefer capri pants?

Capri pants stop just below the knee: they leave the calves free to demonstrate a gesture, stay cooler than long trousers, and cover more than shorts at the start of a session.
