The Futsal page brings together indoor football shoes with flat rubber soles, suitable for futsal, five, and gymnasiums, from Joma, Mizuno, adidas, Nike, or Puma.
Precision control and balance down to the millimetre, on both wooden floors and synthetic surfaces.
Futsal, recognised by FIFA which held its first World Cup in 1989 in the Netherlands, is played five-a-side on a handball court, with a smaller and low bounce ball. The game is fast, technical, involving sole plays, controlled touches and constant changes of direction. The shoe must therefore provide excellent ball touch and very secure support.
The futsal shoe has a flat rubber non-marking sole, which grips the floor without leaving marks. Many include a pivot point, a circle under the forefoot to facilitate rotation. The sole is thin and flexible to feel the ground and the ball, with a slight cushioning at the heel. A shoe designed for stabilised surfaces, with small studs, is not suitable for the floor: it slips and can mark it.
The upper made of leather or suede, as seen on classic models from Joma or Mizuno, provides a soft touch and adapts to the foot, ideal for sole control. Synthetic uppers, which are lighter and easier to maintain, resist better to wear from repeated friction. The reinforcement at the toe of the shoe protects during toe strikes, which are common in futsal. The shoe should be fitted, with no space at the front, for precise touch.
Shoes are also found by brand, Joma, Mizuno, adidas, Nike, Puma, on the shoes page. Joma, a Spanish brand, is one of the historical references in futsal.

The futsal, recognised by FIFA, is played five-a-side on a handball court with a smaller low bounce ball. Indoor football is a broader term for all indoor practices.
No: studs slip on the floor, damage the surface, and lead to sprains. You need a flat rubber non-marking sole, which grips the gym surface.
On a five on synthetic, the flat indoor sole lacks grip: a model with small rubber studs is more suitable, as the futsal shoe is made for smooth surfaces.
The futsal shoe should fit snugly, with no excessive space in front of the toes, for precise ball touch. Leather and suede stretch a bit with wear, synthetic materials stretch much less.
Wipe the sole after each session to remove dust that reduces grip, let them air dry and reserve the pair for indoor use: the outside quickly wears and dirties the rubber.
