New England Tea Home Jersey 1978
Based in the Boston area, the Tea Men's name refers to the historic Boston Tea Party and the Lipton Tea Company, the owners of the club. After making a successful debut in the NASL in 1978, the club won its division to reach the play-offs and matched that performance in 1980. There was a strong British influence on their signing policy with Gerry Daly, Kevin Keelan and especially Mick Flanagan. Financial problems brought the club down and it was moved and renamed in 1980 as the Jacksonville Tea Men.
