We've added high compression in all the right places and selected fabrics, which are hydrophobic in nature. This has the effect of shifting the center of buoyancy. If you do this, while reducing surface drag, you swim faster! We've measured this efficiency at up to 4.5 seconds per 100 m. Like a neoprene suit, the gains are greater the less elite you are. Yes, elite swimmers will save a lot of time per 100 m, but average swimmers will benefit from even greater time gains.
