Soviet Football Union 1970's Zip Up Sweatshirt
With their consistent performances in major international tournaments, the Soviet Union established itself as one of the major powers in the world game between 1966 and 1972, the year it finished second in the European Cup of Nations in West Germany. And then everything collapsed. Political difficulties cost them a potential place in the 1974 tournament after they refused to play Chile in a play-off, but it was only on the field that the Soviets failed to qualify for the 1978 World Cup and the European Championships in 1976 and 1980.
