Sheffield FC 1950's long-sleeved home jersey
With the distinction of being the oldest club in the world still playing football, Sheffield FC has historically attracted some interest. The club declined in the English game following their refusal in 1885 to adopt professional status, but continue to thrive in their role as a community club. Sheffield joined the Yorkshire League in 1949 and would spend the next few decades moving between its two main divisions. 1957 was an important year in the club's history as Sheffield celebrated its 100th anniversary.
