Jersey Watford FC 1989/91 Retro100% polyester 100% soccer Packaged in a gift box Made in Europe Machine washable
The Great Escape of 1990/91 was one of the most remarkable turnarounds in Watford history. Steve Perryman's side began a run of seven wins and two draws in ten games to overcome an eight-point deficit and secure the safety of the old Division Two before the final day of the season. Paul Wilkinson's remarkable form was key during this period and, in 1991, the striker became the premier player in Watford's history to finish top scorer in three consecutive seasons. Players such as Gary Porter, Glenn Roeder and Glyn Hodges played a key role in this period, as did goalkeepers Tony Coton and David James, while Gary Penrice must also be remembered for the remarkable feat of scoring in each of his first six appearances in 1989/90.
