Corinthians, the Timão
Founded in 1910 by workers from São Paulo, Corinthians got its name from the English club Corinthians, which toured Brazil. Nicknamed the Timão, it has one of the largest supporter bases in the country. It won the Copa Libertadores in 2012, and then the World Club Championship the same year against Chelsea. Its home kit is white, with black shorts, while its away kit is usually black. Socrates, a symbol of Corinthians' democracy, made a lasting imprint.
Flamengo, the Mengão
Founded in 1895 as a rowing club, hence its name Clube de Regatas, Flamengo from Rio de Janeiro claims to have the largest supporter base in Brazil. The Mengão has won several Copa Libertadores, including those in 2019, 2022, and 2025, and has seen the brilliance of Zico, its greatest legend.
