A land of football
Scotland is one of the cradles of football: its league, founded in 1890, is one of the oldest in the world, and its national team played the very first international match in 1872 against England. The Scottish Premiership brings together twelve clubs. It has been dominated for over a century by the two giants of Glasgow, Celtic and the Rangers, whose derby, the Old Firm, is one of the most passionate and oldest in the world.

The Celtic, the Lisbon Lions
Founded in 1887, Celtic FC plays at Celtic Park, nicknamed Paradise. In 1967, its players, all born within fifty kilometres of the stadium, won the European Cup in Lisbon against Inter Milan: the Lisbon Lions became the first British club champion of Europe. The green and white horizontal hoops jersey, the hoops, is one of the most recognisable in football. Celtic has over fifty titles of champion of Scotland.
The other clubs
The Rangers, the other giant of Glasgow, in blue, won the Cup Winners' Cup in 1972. Aberdeen, managed by Alex Ferguson, won the same competition in 1983, and Hearts and Hibernian contest the derby of Edinburgh. For choosing their jersey, they opt for the supporter cut, comfortable, for daily wear. They wash their jersey inside out, at thirty degrees, to preserve the badge and markings.
