Founded in 1927, AS Roma
AS Roma was founded on 22nd July 1927 through the merger of three clubs from the capital, Alba-Audace, Fortitudo-Pro Roma, and Roman, in order to give Rome a major club capable of competing with those in northern Italy. It became the Italian champion in 1942, 1983, and 2001, and won the first edition of the Europa Conference League in 2022. Its emblem, the she-wolf nursing Romulus and Remus, refers to the city's founding myth, and Francesco Totti spent his whole professional career in its colours.

The purple and gold, colours of the city
The crimson red and gold yellow of Roma are the historical colours of the city of Rome, hence the nickname Giallorossi, the yellow and red. The home shirt is purple, the away shirt is often white, and the third shirt allows for more varied shades.
