Our selection of Galatasaray SK brings together the away shirt and the club's third shirt without a sponsor from Istanbul. Cimbom, founded in 1905 by high school students, has been wearing yellow and red for over a century and remains the first Turkish club to lift a European cup, a legacy that these outfits allow to be displayed both at the stadium and in the city.

Founded by the students of Galatasaray

The Galatasaray Spor Kulübü was established in October 1905 in Istanbul, initiated by Ali Sami Yen and his classmates from Galatasaray High School, one of the oldest institutions in the country, which gave it its name. After a few attempts, the club adopted yellow and red in 1908: Ali Sami Yen saw it as the brightness of a fire meant to lead the team to victory. Nicknamed Cimbom, the club long played at the Ali Sami Yen Stadium before moving to RAMS Park in 2011, located in the Sarıyer district, a venue of over fifty thousand seats known for the noise of its stands.

Copenhagen and Monaco, the double victory of 2000

On May 17, 2000, in Copenhagen, Galatasaray won the UEFA Cup against Arsenal: after a goalless match, they prevailed in the penalty shootout and became the first Turkish club to be crowned in Europe. On August 25, at the Louis-II Stadium in Monaco, they defeated Real Madrid two goals to one in the European Supercup, thanks to a brace from Brazilian Mário Jardel, including a golden goal in extra time. Managed by Fatih Terim, this team relied on the genius of Romanian Gheorghe Hagi, Brazilian goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel, and Turkish key players like striker Hakan Şükür.

Away and third shirt without sponsor

The club's home shirt is divided into two halves, yellow on one side and red on the other, a kit recognized throughout Turkey. The away shirt and the third shirt offer other interpretations of this identity, to support Cimbom away from RAMS Park. The sponsor-free version of the third shirt leaves plenty of room for the crest and colors, a simplicity appreciated by collectors as well as those who wear it daily. The supporter cut is chosen in the usual size; the shirt is washed inside out at thirty degrees, without a tumble dryer, to preserve the crest and inscriptions.
