The D-LITE control sticks in 7075 Aerospace aluminium Diabolo from Play: perfection for the circus!
Here are the new D-LITE control sticks made from 7075 Aerospace aluminium for Diabolo.
After 10 years of production, PLAY has recently discontinued the renowned DEOS carbon control sticks to replace them with this updated version that maintains the same weight and dimensions, still appreciated by the top Diabolo players around the world, while introducing major improvements in design that PLAY is proud to present today. Thanks to the 7075 tube, which is as sturdy and light as carbon fibre but cannot splinter or crack, we've managed to apply the same technique used in the archery industry, designing the tips as if they were arrow points.
The tips are made from the same type of aluminium and have the same round profile as their predecessors, but they feature grooves that allow them to be glued inside the tube using regular hot melt glue rather than epoxy. This seemingly minor detail enables tips to be assembled and replaced in seconds if they get damaged after heavy use, extending the lifespan of your sticks at a lower cost. Additionally, the back tip, mounted on the side of the handle, is designed with an internal conical shape that guides the string through the hole, allowing for quick string replacement and ensuring a solid feel as it is firmly glued to the stick.
The classic 150 mm long white silicone handle ensures the best possible grip and is practically identical to the previous version. To address some slipping issues that occurred sometimes in the past, we've extruded it to a slightly smaller inner diameter, so once assembled on the sticks, it doesn't move at all.
Finally, the 7075 aluminium is anodized in 5 beautiful colours, giving it an extremely durable and high-tech finish.
