About the 5'5 Shortboard The 5'5 shortboard is designed for speed and action enthusiasts with a bit of experience; it’s lively and sharp, reacting instantly to help you nail your maneuvers and requires good balance control. We selected a 5'5" model at 24 L and 18 inches wide… a small, very responsive board. It features a concave tail on the back two-thirds. With this type of board, you won’t have time to slack off… but the fun will definitely be there. Who is this board suitable for? It’s our board for kids. For beginners under 35 kilos or those progressing, and experts under 65 KGS, this is the ideal board! Enjoy! The construction of our boards follows a strict specification to achieve more strength with less weight: Air-conditioned lamination rooms to ensure an ideal humidity level for perfect drying (resulting in more strength at equal lamination). Vacuum lamination with a drain for excess resin: the fiberglass needs just the right amount of resin for proper impregnation. The vacuum process allows the resin to penetrate the fiber, with excess drained away. Too much resin means a heavier board, but more importantly, it makes the fiberglass brittle.
