Discover the Manitou Mara Pro Inline XC shock absorber, combining lightness and exceptional performance for agile and responsive riding.
"
The Manitou Mara Pro Inline shock absorber covers a wide range of activities such as trail and all-mountain riding. The absence of a piggyback reservoir helps the Mara Pro reduce its weight. It delivers excellent performance for most riding styles. The 4-position IPA adjustment, SKF internal floating piston, and 17-click rebound create a complete package. The Manitou Mara Pro Inline shock has a specific trail configuration that provides excellent sensitivity to small bumps and maximum shock responsiveness, making it ideal for aggressive riding. The trail-specific configuration also increases compression across the full adjustment range, reaching a moderately firm platform that is perfect for efficiently pedalling up technical climbs.
The Incremental Platform Adjust (IPA)
The IPA (Incremental Platform Adjust) compression shock of the Mara Pro Inline, which has four positions, offers a wide range of compression adjustment, from an open mode ready to handle rocky terrain to a firm position that provides the necessary support during leg-burning climbs. It achieves this by using two distinct clickers, maintaining an ideal balance between low and high-speed compression damping across the entire adjustment range.
The first of these clicker stacks in the Manitou Mara Pro Inline shock is controlled by the IPA dial (black dial). Turning the IPA dial clockwise directly increases the preload on the shims without the need for springs. The absence of springs maximises the responsiveness of the shims to terrain irregularities, keeping the rear wheel stable, controlled, and effective, regardless of the bumps in the trail.
The second stack of the Manitou Mara Pro Inline shock is carefully designed to improve sensitivity to small impacts and provide the right amount of high-speed compression with minimal firmness.
The result: the Manitou Mara Pro Inline shock offers better chassis control, excellent sensitivity to small impacts with effective management of bottom outs, less deviation in technical sections, and outstanding suspension quality in all conditions.
Rebound management of the Mara Pro Inline shock
The rebound of the Manitou Mara Pro Inline shock, adjustable in 17 positions, is also controlled by two distinct circuits.
The first is controlled by a needle screw that allows for rebound damping adjustment based on the rider's weight, suspension ratio, and air chamber pressure. Adjusting this needle via the dial affects the entire damping range but primarily controls low-speed rebound.
The second circuit is a clicker carefully optimised to maintain adequate high-speed rebound, regardless of the low-speed rebound setting.
Thus, the Manitou Mara Pro Inline shock provides the rider with better control, increased traction, and greater steering precision, while minimising the need to adjust settings based on trail conditions.
The air can of the Manitou Mara Pro Inline shock
To allow for precise adjustment of the compression curve, positive and negative air volumes can be easily adjusted by adding or removing the included volume spacers, without the need for special tools. This follows the same principle as the IVA (Incremental Volume Adjust) system found in Manitou forks, offering a high degree of versatility and autonomy in adjustments. The air can of the Manitou Mara Pro Inline shock has an optimised air volume for trail riding known as the Balance Groove King Can.
The IFP of the Manitou Mara Pro Inline shock
Made by SKF, the flexible internal floating piston (IFP) of the Manitou Mara Pro Inline shock is a next-generation floating piston whose flexibility significantly increases the shock's sensitivity at the beginning of its stroke.
