Flexible tip brake pedal RFX Pro series The brake pedals RFX Pro series are designed and tested for use at the highest level. The Pro series brake pedals are made from 7075-T6 aluminium and feature a forged OEM-type axle. The smooth finish of the axle helps reduce wear associated with a grooved design. The flexible tips of the Pro series are made from CNC-machined aluminium billets and include a spring-loaded rotating tip that turns upon impact, such as in a rut, to minimise damage. The tip also has sharp teeth for improved grip in muddy conditions. The flexible tips of the Pro series also have a stop on the pivoting tip, which limits the tip's rotation to 90 degrees, preventing damage that may occur if the tip rotates under the clutch cover. The Pro series brake pedals also feature an incorporated cable brake snake, which helps prevent the pedal axle from bending in the event of a collision. Features: Made from quality 7075 aluminium. T6 heat treatment to increase tensile strength. Smooth axle design to reduce surface wear. CNC-machined flexible tip. Rotational action reduces impact damage. Mechanical stop on the tip. Incorporated brake snake. Anodised in colour to avoid corrosion. Laser-etched logo. Installation instructions: Start by noting the height of the pedal tip in relation to the footpeg. Remove the R-clip or the split pin from the back of the brake bolt located behind the frame. Remove the pivot bolt that holds the pedal to the frame. Detach the return spring from the pedal and let it hang. Rotate the pedal outward to expose the split pin at the back of the pedal arm. Remove this split pin and the positioning pin, the rear brake pedal will now come off. Remove the oil seals from the old pedal, clean them, and reinstall them on the new pedal. Clean all parts with a multi-purpose lubricant like maxima MPPL, ready for reinstallation. Reinstall the brake arm, the stop pin, and the split pin. Reattach the return spring. Apply Maxima waterproof grease to the pivot bolt, align the pivot hole, and reinstall the bolt. Tighten the pivot bolt to the required torque according to the user manual. Reinstall the R-clip/split pin at the back of the pivot bolt. Once the pedal is fixed, adjust the pedal height for the correct position and free play by loosening the nut above the arm and turning the plunger bolt inwards or outwards as needed. Now install the brake snake. Japanese models - Remove the nut and washer from the lower engine support, replace the old washer with the new washer that is attached to the brake snake. KTM models - Remove the new washer that is attached to the brake snake, set it aside as it is not needed on the KTM, loop the cable around the lower engine support and replace it inside the crimp fitting. Adjust the correct tension on the brake snake, remembering to allow for a downward extension of the pedal. Crimp the fitting with pliers and cut the excess cable.
