In 1981 with the Jazz model, the shoe shape and the triangular studded outsoles characteristic of the Saucony brand appeared. When we created the Jazz, we worked closely with podiatrists to make sure that our shoe would provide runners with the comfort they needed and withstand long distances. The triangular lug sole provided good grip, offering a piston-like suspension system that is still the inspiration for Saucony's outsoles today.
