• In 1963, Bill Bowerman wrote "The jogging Fan Manual", a 3-page booklet containing instructions on how to practice jogging and all the benefits of this sporting discipline. The booklet was an incredible success across the country, sparking a nationwide craze for jogging. With his training programs and sound advice, from form and distance to footwear preferences, Bowerman has earned a solid reputation in the running communities.
• Mr. Bowerman has sent jogging programs and original shoes to runners all over the country, with personal letters to encourage them in their activities, always with his patented signature at the bottom of the shoe. The color scheme is inspired by the classic colors of the book's cover. Bowmerman's signature, visible on the midsole, is taken from the personalized note. The stitched Swoosh recalls Bowmerman's great years, and the material of the Swoosh reproduces the texture of a track surface. A special message inside the tongue reminds you that it's important to move!
• To create the Pegasus 40, we took an inside-out approach, starting by placing a band in the middle of the foot for a more secure fit without sacrificing flexibility, as if the shoe were tenderly embracing your foot. We wanted the inside of the shoe to be comfortable, breathable and supple around the toes, arch and heel, where the foot is most sensitive, with a circular pattern designed to follow the shape of the foot. Suede provides a better fit without the risk of rubbing, mile after mile.
• We've integrated more foam around the collar for a better fit and optimal comfort. Then we improved the inner linings and full padding for an incredibly soft fit.
• Single-layer mesh combines with familiar, reliable structures and fibers for a pleasing fit and style. The mesh has been designed to provide exceptional feel and optimize air circulation, offering optimal breathability when the temperature rises.
• Nike React technology composed of a light, resistant foam that guarantees a fluid, responsive stride. We've coupled two Zoom Air units, in the forefoot and heel, for a more dynamic toe feel. The result is a smooth transition from heel to toe.
• The heel area is designed to optimize foot placement and improve transition and durability.
• Embossed pattern for optimum grip during training.
• Additional flexible grooves for smoother toe-off.
• The rubber outsole is more resistant thanks to a recycled compound.
