Zipped sweatshirt France 1960's
The exceptional success achieved by finishing in third place at the 1958 World Cup with world-class stars such as Vincent, Kopa and Fontaine gave hope for a promising future for French football in the years to come. However, none of these hopes would be fulfilled in the 1960s. The turning point came in 1960, when France hosted the inaugural tournament of the European Cup of Nations. In the semi-finals, the French led Yugoslavia 4-2 with only 15 minutes left to play, only to lose their lead and let the Yugoslavs win 5-4. Things got worse from there. The rest of the decade saw many coaches come and go as the national team failed to qualify for a single major tournament outside the 1966 World Cup. Even that campaign ended in early disappointment and elimination in the group stage.
